Kahlua is a coffee-flavored, sugar-based liqueur from Mexico. The drink also contains rum, corn syrup and vanilla bean. Kahlua was first produced in 1936 in Veracruz, Mexico by Pedro Domecq (updated with info from Cristina Arroyo). In 1940 Kahlua was first exported to the United States.
